We are happy to announce that the Cincy Cup has returned to St. Cecilia. The cup is symbolic of a friendly competition between the area archdiocesan schools that are members of the Seton Education partners. The Cup goes to and stays with the area school whose students had the highest percentge of students that met or exceeded their latest NWEA MAP scores.
Not only did St. Cecilia outperform the three local scools in the Archdiocese, but out of 13 schools that are nationally part of Seton Partners, St. Cecilia was #1 in reading growth and tied for #3 in math!
Great job to our students and teachers!!
Eighth Graders Host a Wonderful Washington D.C. Dinner
This year’s 8th grade Washington DC Fundraising Dinner was another great success, probably the most fun and successful one to date thanks to this year’s Top Chef staff competition. The cafeteria was transformed into a nice dining setting and students did a great job hosting and serving a sold our dinner crowd of 76 patrons. Staff worked hard, had a lot of fun, and prepared a first class meal that received rave reviews from all in attendance. It was good for students to see teachers working together beyond the classroom and to see their fun yet competitive sides - knowing all along that they were giving their time so that their night would be a success in helping to offset some of the DC trip costs. Congratulations to Team Blue who ultimately won the competition, garnering more votes in the appetizer and dessert rounds while Team Gold claimed the most votes in the entree round.

Congratulations to Saint Cecilia Catholic School on being selected by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati to receive the Sadlier Catholic Identity Award at the NCEA convention in Cincinnati this spring.
Each year at the National Catholic Education Association Annual Convention, the Catholic Schools Office of the host diocese recognizes a school for best demonstrating a strong Catholic identity. This year, St. Cecilia was a one of two recipients chosen from among 114 schools throughout the Archdiocese of Cincinnati "for shaping Catholic Identity in the School's life, faith, and mission through the various ministries of Catholic Education." Principal Mike Goedde, along with faculty and staff attended the breakfast at the NCEA Convention where they received the award from the Sadlier Company.
St. Cecilia opened its preschool in the 2012-2013 school year. The program has been at full capacity each year with this year’s enrollment standing at 20 students. Since its inception, the school has been committed to providing excellent early childhood education and meeting all standards that the state would deem necessary to be recognized as an outstanding preschool program.
After several year working to ensure all requirements were
in place, the state of Ohio awarded St. Cecilia a 5-Star Rat-
ing for its preschool program last spring. Step Up To Quality
(SUTQ) is a five-star quality rating and improvement system
administered by the Ohio Department of Education and the
Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. SUTQ recognizes and promotes learning and development programs that
meet quality program standards that exceed licensing, health, and safety regulations. The program standards are based on
national research identifying objectives which lead to improved outcomes for children.
To recognize this accomplishment, a banner for the school to proudly display was given and a certificate recognizing St. Cecilia as a 5-Star Rated Preschool through 2020 was presented.
St. Cecilia was only the third Cincinnati Archdiocese elementary school to have its preschool granted a SUTQ rating by the state.
