At St. Cecilia School, we believe that the best education a child can get is one where parents are actively involved. We invite you to get involved and become a part of the St. Cecilia family. You’ll find a number of opportunities for participating and a wide range of needs.

When families give service hours to their child’s school, it sets an excellent example for the children. We look forward to learning what your strengths are, and how you can use them to make a great educational experience for your child even better. You’re sure to meet new people and have some fun in whatever you choose to get involved in.

We encourage all of our students to become involved in service projects during the school year. In that same spirit, the Education Commission of St. Cecilia approved the following parent service policy, which applies to families of all students enrolled at the school.

1. 20 hours per year of service hours per school family
   • These can be fulfilled by parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.
   • Hours will be tracked from July 1 to July 1.
2. Obtaining credit for the hours worked will be the responsibility of the person working the service hours.
   • Sign-in sheets will be available at each fund raising event; be sure to sign in and out.
   • Sign-in sheets will be located in the school office.
   • Log sheets will be tallied on a quarterly basis.
3. Failure to complete your 20 hours of service may result in registration being withheld for the following school year until hours are fulfilled.
   • Letters will be sent quarterly to each family updating them on their hours served.

If you have any concerns regarding the amount of service hours credited to your family, send a note to the office and it will be forwarded to the service hour coordinator for follow up.

St. Cecilia School welcomes the involvement of our students’ parents and family members. Contributing to your child’s education through volunteering can be an enriching experience for both the parent and child. The St. Cecilia Education Commission approved a Parent Service Policy that states each student’s family will contribute a minimum of 20 service hours per year.

Listed below are some activities that will fulfill your service hour obligations. Do not feel limited to these activities. If you have an idea about something you could do to help support the school, please contact the principal.

• Festival booth worker or set-up/clean up worker (hours doubled)
• Oktoberfest Committee/Volunteer (hours doubled)
• Doce de Mayo Committee/Volunteer (hours doubled)
• Field Trip Volunteer (if needed)
• Participation in school fundraisers (3 hours per fundraising activity)
• Homeroom Parent (fulfills obligation)
• PTO Board 
• Santa's Workshop Volunteer
• Scholastic Book Fair
• Box Tops (1 full sheet of box tops turned in = 3 service hours)
• Register for Kroger Plus Card (5 hours)
• Participate in Restaurant Nights (receipt = 2 hours)
• Field Day Volunteer
• School Painting
• End of Year School Clean-up
