Why Now? What about other Parish projects whose funding has already been secured? - Construction costs are only going up.  Lead time for ordering materials, securing workers, and planning are only becoming more complex.  Presently, contractors have provided quotes and ensured a timeline that will allow for completion of this project this summer.  Should we delay, costs could easily increase in excess of 20% of the total cost of the project.  It will be an exciting spring and summer as groundbreaking on the side lawn family area, reflection garden, additional upgrades on the Madison Road playground, and landscaping in the fenced in area near the school office will begin, ensuring that all funds earmarked for these projects will be spent on these projects. 

• Timeline - May 16th begin project; August 16th end project; Begin school the week of August 22nd

What are the benefits? - What started almost a decade ago will be completed.  All classrooms within the building will have been remodeled and air conditioned, ensuring comfortable, high quality learning spaces throughout St. Cecilia School.  These spaces will be utilized by students, staff, Family of Faith, Young Adults, RCIA, and parishioners when meeting spaces are needed for special events.  

• Commons - The Commons space is scheduled for the the entirety of year; it is used by Family of Faith, Young Adults, Adult Parish Bible studies and Meetings, American Heritage Girls
• Classrooms are used by parish regularly for catechesis classes for children and adults, American Heritage Girl meetings and Young Adults 

Why is there value? - This is an investment in our parish, its future, and one of its most important ministries, the education of our children and its parishioners.  The remodeling will  ensure that much needed and long overdo upgrades are completed in a cost effective and efficient manner.

• The vision for the future parish family is one that includes two vibrant schools.  The schools will be different but they will both strive to uphold the hallmarks of Catholic education:  strong catechesis, a disciplined and wholesome environment, rigorous academics, an orthodox Catholic perspective.  The family will search for ways that the schools work together in mission, worship, athletics, and service, fellowship, leading the way for other parish families.

A Strong Record of Trust - Parishioners can be assured that their investment is one that will pay dividends.  The school will continue its forward trajectory, continue to provide a quality education in the Catholic tradition, continue to serve parishioners and those outside the parish who desire something better for their children, and continue to bring vitality and energy to parish life.  Prior support for the school has served to energize it, to make it stronger, and to align its vision to those of the parish.  A commitment to continue to position it for future successes will continue. 

School Viability/Vitality Snapshot - Corresponding with these upgrades, the overall school direction and sustainability have strengthened.  Enrollment has consistently been strong with waiting lists each year at multiple grade levels.  An overall student body population of approximately 250 has been consistent over the past eight years.  The present Catholic population is approaching 60%, a 27% gain over ten years.   Along with this growth, the school has been reinvigorated and helps to contribute to the vibrancy of the parish.
